What is the URL Query Editor?#
The URL Query Editor shows a URL's query parameters in a table so you can inspect and edit them. Only the parameters you edit are rewritten. Everything else keeps its original encoding.
How to Use#
- Paste a URL into the URL field. Its query parameters appear as rows.
- Edit keys and values in the table. The URL updates as you type.
- Copy the updated URL or just the query string.
Bare query strings must start with ?.
Editing Parameters#
- On/off toggle: Unchecking a row removes it from the URL but keeps it in the table. Check it again to put it back near its original position.
- Editing a row: Typing a key or value changes only that parameter. The other side stays as it was.
- Decoded and raw view: Decoded view shows readable values and encodes your edits. Raw view shows and saves the text exactly as it appears in the URL.
- Duplicate keys: Rows with the same key get a
Duplicatebadge. - Flags and empty values: A flag like
debughas no value. Typing a value adds the=. An empty value likea=keeps its=.
URL Summary#
- Length: total URL length. The meter turns orange past 2000 characters.
- Query: length of the query string after
?. - Keys: number of different keys.
- Duplicates: number of keys used more than once.
Use Cases#
- Remove tracking parameters from a shared link while keeping the rest of the URL intact.
- Replace a single value in a signed or pre-generated URL without retyping the whole string.
- Break down a long URL to see which parameters it carries and how long the URL and its query are.

Notes#
- Text that cannot be decoded stays as it is and gets a warning icon on the key.
